Adwoa Fosua is an award-winning social entrepreneur, business development consultant, and founder of Women’s Haven Africa—a pioneering women-focused coworking, technology, and business hub based in Kumasi, Ghana. Founded in 2019, Women’s Haven Africa is dedicated to accelerating growth, inclusion, and sustainability for women entrepreneurs in the tech and business sectors. The hub champions the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 1, 5, 8, and 13), focusing on eradicating poverty,
promoting gender equality, fostering economic growth, and supporting climate action. Through Women’s Haven Africa, Adwoa has created an empowering ecosystem that nurtures purpose-driven women leaders to drive economic and social transformation across Africa.
With a wealth of experience as a Business Development Consultant and Coach through her Consultancy Firm, the AF Global Consult, Adwoa has impacted over 3,000 women entrepreneurs and startups, providing strategic guidance, capacity building, and mentorship. Her partnerships include high-impact organizations such as GIZ, Mastercard Foundation, Reach for Change, SNV Ghana etc. In these roles, she has demonstrated expertise in ecosystem building, strategic coaching, and developing sustainable business models that empower women-led enterprises to thrive.
EDUCATION AND CREDENTIALS
Adwoa’s academic background is marked by degrees in Development Management from the University of Development Studies, an MBA in Project Management from Accra Business School, and a Master of Science in Strategic Management and Leadership from KNUST. Additionally, she is a certified trainer with Sparkassen Stiftung, Expert Facilitator for the UNDP/NEIP Young Innovates Project and was a Coach for GIZ’s WIDU project, where she empowered over 100 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) 2020 2023.
PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENTS
Under Adwoa’s leadership, Women’s Haven Africa has emerged as one of Ghana’s fastest-growing innovation centers, earning accolades such as Best Hub and Best Startup Support Organization at the 2021 Ghana Startup Awards and Ecosystem Hub of the Year in 2022. Personally, Adwoa has been celebrated as one of Ghana’s 20 Most Outstanding Young Entrepreneurs (2020), a Ladies in Tech Champion, and the recipient of the Outstanding Social Impact Leadership Award at the CENBA Africa Excellence Awards 2022. Recently, she was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Floodlight Media Excellence Awards 2024 and recognized as part of Africa’s Most promising Female Entrepreneurs-35 under 35 Awards.
As a Grow with Us Fellow, a World Economic Forum Global Shaper, and an AGYLE Fellow, Adwoa has represented Ghana on international stages across Germany, Switzerland, Ethiopia, Zambia and Nigeria. In each, she has advocated for gender-focused investments, believing that economic empowerment for women is key to Africa’s development.

Adwoa’s vision is to foster a thriving ecosystem that addresses the unique challenges women entrepreneurs face. Through her hub, she offers training, incubation, mentorship, and workspaces tailored to support women in diverse fields, from technology and agriculture to fashion and renewable energy and other sectors. Her ambition is to inspire and equip young African women to scale and make a lasting impact in their industries.
With extensive expertise in consulting, coaching, and ecosystem development, Adwoa Fosua is a trusted leader and advisor for businesses and organizations committed to gender inclusivity, social impact, and innovation-driven growth. Her work embodies a commitment to creating sustainable, inclusive platforms that enable women to lead with resilience and purpose.
In 2021, Adwoa’s journey and dedication to launching Women’s Haven Africa were spotlighted by SNV and the European Union. Her story also featured in the Women Leaders Book 2021, a project she co authored under the Women Leaders Initiative. This initiative, spearheaded by Global Utmaning and Reach for Change with support from the Swedish Institute, focuses on advancing system-changing solutions for women’s economic empowerment and structural inclusion. In her chapter, Adwoa emphasizes the importance of equitable investment in Africa, advocating for sustainable resources that support women’s growth and leadership.
At Women’s Haven Africa, Adwoa has driven a variety of impactful projects, including the She Goes Digital Program, National Female PreTech Program with Soronko Academy, Coding for Girls Program, Women in Data Analytics Program, and the Women’s Voice and Leadership in Ghana Program with Plan Ghana, funded by Global Affairs Canada. Additional partnerships include the Base Program with Ghana Tech Lab (funded by the World Bank), Premest Digital Marketing Program with MEST Africa, and the Grow Program in collaboration with Generations Ghana, funded by the Mastercard Foundation.
